So... I'm back. For good. I have a "new" laptop, and wireless internet, and a comfy couch... Watch Out!!
Well, for the most "important" update, I suppose, I have been "OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED". To all those who know me, let's have some collective foot stomping, hand clapping and general whooping and hollering!!!! I am no longer in question of my own sanity, not that I really was per se, but after the most recent rounds of Dr's, I was fed up and seriously considered just driving myself to the state hospital and asking for the nearest padded locked cell... Then, on what I SWORE to be my LAST appointment (one that I was so discouraged about I nearly canceled last minute), upon seeing my 80-yr-old-Ortho for the millionth time, it was all over. He walks in the room, and says, "So, have I ever told you you have something called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or Stickler's Syndrome? No? Well, you do." He proceeded to do an assortment of bending, stretching tests and asking a barrage of odd questions, particularly about my eyesight, and then confirmed it once again, "Yup, that's what it is. I never told you that? Hmmm..." With a note to my primary, a referral to an eye specialist and a dire warning of imminent or not so-immnent blindness, the visit was over.
Can you say OVERWHELMED & RELIEVED??? No longer am I afraid I have some mystery bone marrow disorder - since that was all the docs ever pointed at... And while yes, I'm still in exhausting, constant pain, at least now I KNOW WHY. And now, I qualify for my marijuana card, too! Whoo hoo! Blindness doesn't sound all that great, but you know what? I'd take that over having cancer anyday. I haven't seen the eye specialist yet (that apt is Oct. 23!), so I don't know what the state of my eyes are yet.
Other than that... things are more or less the same. I still live in the ghetto, I'm still single... My son's dad is FINALLY in prison, for a LONG time... But that's another story for another day. I upgraded this account, to a free plus account, so if ya'll hate the ads, I apologize. As soon as I get my web cam up & working though, I promise pictures!!
That's is for now...
